bizou.cc ("we", "our", or "us") is a URL shortening and link analytics service operated from Haiti. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at bizou.cc and any associated services.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and never stored by us in plain text.
Link click data
When someone clicks one of your shortened links, we record:
- The time and date of the click
- The visitor's approximate country (derived from IP address)
- Device type, browser, and operating system (from the User-Agent header)
- The referring URL (if present)
- The IP address (used for unique-click detection and then stored in hashed/anonymized form)
Usage data
We collect standard server logs including request paths, response codes, and timestamps to maintain service reliability and security.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the bizou.cc service
- To show you analytics for your shortened links
- To process payments via Stripe or MonCash
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent activity
- To improve service performance and reliability
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and access controls to protect your data.
Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We do not store raw passwords.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication
- Stripe — credit/debit card payment processing
- MonCash (Digicel Haiti) — mobile money payment processing
- Railway — server and database hosting
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing them for details on how they handle your data.
6. Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- A session cookie to keep you logged in via Firebase
- A language preference cookie (
i18n_redirected) - Short-lived cookies to remember password-protected link access
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
7. Data Retention
Your account data and link analytics are retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page, which permanently removes your links, analytics, and personal information.
Anonymous click data (no direct identifier) may be retained in aggregate form for statistical purposes.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your link data

9. Children's Privacy
bizou.cc is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of bizou.cc after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
